Easter Eggs

I'm entering this card in this months Scrapbook Boutique challenge for an Easter project.  I started with green cardstock and layered on papers from Spring Drop DSP (First Edition), firstly because they are Easter themed and secondly because they have the colours in the inspiration picture.  I used a Martha Stewart trim punch and green cardstock to make a cover strip over the two background papers.  I stamped the nest image from Flourishes Spring Has Sprung stamp set with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis square die.  I layered this onto lilac cardstock cut into a square and added it to the card front with foam tape.  Then I made a notched tag and stamped the Easter sentiment (Teeny Tiny Sentiments from Stampin' Up!) with lilac ink, and finished off with lilac pearls in the corners.

Copic Colours used were:  B02, V12, YG11, YG13, E30, E31, E33, E35, E11, E13, E15.

Sewing Box

The challenge on this weeks Timeless Tuesday is to use Thread.  Well, my sewing machine is out of action at present, so I had to come up with something different.  Firstly, I hand stitched around some DSP from Kaisercraft's Candy Lane Collection and layered it onto some dark pink cardstock.  I stamped the sewing box image from the Stitched for You stamp set (Flourishes), and die cut it with a Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle die.  Then I drew some faux stitching and a needle with a Multiliner pen, coloured the image with copics and layered the piece onto dark pink cardstock.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Motherly Love set and was stamped with Versacolor Peony ink cut into a circle and layered onto a scallop circle and added to the card front with foam tape.  I finished off with buttons and a stick on pair of scissors to complete the sewing theme.

Copic Colours used were:  YG11, YG13, YG17, RV52, RV55, RV66, YR12, YR17, Y21, Y11, Y17, E50, E51, E41, E43, E33, E35, C1, C3, C5, C7

Spring Bunnies

This week, Timeless Tuesday challenge is celebrating Spring.  Well, I'm happy to play along, although we're about to begin Autumn here in Australia.  I thought the obvious stamp choice would be from Flourishes Spring Has Sprung stamp set.  So I stamped the bunnies with Memento ink onto blending card and die cut it with my new Radient Rectangles (Spellbinders).........it was a perfect fit - don't you just love it when that happens?!  I cut the next layer from Old Olive (Stampin' Up!) with the next size rectangle die and after colouring the image with copics stuck the two pieces together and used foam tape to attach them to the background.  The background paper is from Spring Drop DSP (First Edition) layered onto Orchid cardstock.  I used two paper flowers with yellow pearl centres, plus a Lavender Carnation from Blossoms by Vivaldi, a die cut butterfly and some green felt cut with a Spellbinders Foliage Two die to embellish.  Then I put the card front onto white cardstock die cut with the largest Radient Rectangle.

Copic Colours used were: E11, E15, E17, E19, E50, YG11, YG13, YG63, V04, V12, Y21, RV10, RV21, RV91, RV93.

Blue & Yellow

I made this card for Flourishes Colour Challenge to celebrate their March release.  Blues and yellow are a great match with pansies so I chose this gorgeous image from Flourishes Calendar Set 1, stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  Then I layered it onto mid blue cardstock cut with Labels 18.  The background paper is from Double Dot Designs DSP (Bo Bunny) and layered onto yellow cardstock and then onto mid blue.  I really, really wanted to play with my new Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle dies so chose to use that for the yellow piece.  Then, I added a pale blue strip punched with Martha Stewart doiley lace trim punch.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines and stamped with Memento Bahama Blue and cut into a notched tag.  The image piece was finally added with foam tape.

Copic Colours used were:  B00, B02, B04, Y13, Y21, Y38, G40, G43, G46.

Always Greener

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge is to use Green so I decided to make a totally green and white card.  I chose the Lilly of the Valley image from Flourishes Botanical Bookplates Vol 2 and stamped it with Memento Cottage Ivy ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics, die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Ovals and layered it onto a Scallop Oval.  The background paper is from Kaisercraft's 6 x 6 paper pad "Secret Admirer" layered onto first white cardstock then green.  I used my new Spellbinders Opulent Ovals in white for the centre piece and filled the corners with four die cut pieces called Lace Corner Deco B by Cheery Lynn.  I stamped the sentiment from Flourishes Orchids stamp set with the Cottage Ivy ink onto white card, cut it into a rectangle and rounded the corners with a punch, then layered it onto green cardstock cut with Spellbinders Long Classic Scallop Rectangles.  The image piece and sentiment piece were added with foam tape.

Copic Colours used were:  YG61, YG63, YG67, C1, C3, YR30 (for the "glow")

Botanical Birthday

I made this card for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge - Cards with Cardboard, that is, embossing.  Well, I'm a big fan of embossing folders and this is one of my favourites - Textile (Cuttlebug).  I used it for the background (which is also punched with a Martha Stewart border punch) and also for the frame around the image, made by using two Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  The image is from Flourishes Botanical Bookplates Vol 2 stamp set and the sentiment is from Flourishes Sweet Violets set.  I stamped the pansy image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and sponged some Versacolor lilac ink on the background.  Then I die cut the image piece with a large oval die, adhered the embossed frame to it, and used foam tape to mount it onto a lilac Lacey Oval.

Copic Colours used were:  V04, V06, V12, Y13, Y21, Y35, Y38, G43, G46.

Bicycle Birthday

I made this card for this weeks Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  It's a great design and I had fun using it.  The image is from Flourishes Bike Ride stamp set, cropped into a circle and coloured with Copics and layered onto a Spellbinders Scallop Circle.  The papers are from a 6 x 6 paper pad called On The Sunny Side by My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the sentiment, from Elegant Cheer (an oldie but a goodie) from Stampin' Up!, directly onto the yellow spot paper, die cut with Spellbinders Labels One.  Just couldn't resist the bicycle paper to go with this image - layered that onto the Real Red cardstock (SU), and punched the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart border punch.  Finished off with some red pearls in the top corners.

Copic Colours used were:  BG000, R22, R24, R27, Y21, Y26, G20, G21, E50, E51, C1, C3, C5, C7.
