Fairy Princess

This weeks challenge over at A.R.T. - a random Thursday card challenge is for "Anything Goes" so I thought I would enter this cute card I made recently for a little Granddaughter who loves fairies. The image is from Whimsy Stamps and the sentiment is from Pretty Princess stamp set (Stampin' Up!).  The background paper is from Princess Fairytale DSP (Dovecraft) and the paper on the strip is from Magic Happens DSP (Kaisercraft).  The punched border was done with a Sullivans punch. I stamped the image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with a Spellbinders Standard Circles die.  Then I die cut blue cardstock with a Spellbinders Star Circles die, layered the image piece on top and added it to the background with foam tape.  Finally I added a number 5 made with pink rhinestones for a bit of sparkle!

Copic Colours used were:  RV00, RV02, B00, B02, BV00, E000, E01, E50, E30, E25, E27.

Seaside Birthday

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge is to be inspired by water.  I started this card with paper from Ahoy There DSP (Papermania) and layered it onto Cherry Cobler cardstock (Stampin' Up!).  I coloured a piece of May Arts mesh with Copic R89, wrapped it around the right hand side and topped it with the star ribbon.  I die cut another piece of the paper from Ahoy There with Spellbinders Labels 18 and layered it onto the Cherry Cobler cardstock leaving a narrow border.  The lighthouse image is from Flourishes A Guiding Light stamp set and was stamped with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured with copics and die cut with a Spellbinders Ovals die.  I die cut another piece of Cherry Cobler cardstock with the next size oval and adhered the image piece onto it.  The image piece was then attached with foam tape and a knot of the star ribbon was added to the middle of the wrapped ribbon.

Copic Colours used were:  B0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, G40, G43, E30, E31, C1, C3, R32, R35, R89.

Birthday Lady

I made this card for the Sketch Challenge over at A.R.T. - a random Thursday challenge.  I chose the background paper from Vintage Notes DSP (Papermania) and layered it onto pink cardstock.  I made the crosswise element with pink cardstock and blue-green cardstock punched with a Martha Stewart trim punch.  The long vertical element was made with the same cardstocks.  The sentiment is from Vintage Labels (Stampin' Up!) and cut with a circle punch and layered onto pink cardstock that was die cut with a Spellbinders Classic Circle die.  The image is from Kanban's Cavendish Ladies - A Day at the Races stamp set, stamped with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured with copics and cut out, then added to the card front with foam tape.  Three little pink rhinestones, and it was finished.

Copic Colours used were:  RV000, RV00, RV02, BG000, BG11, C1.

CASEing Stacy

This weeks Designer in the Focus at Flourishes is the wonderfully talented Stacy Morgan - see her story and lovely photo HERE.  There was a great choice of cards to CASE but I eventually chose this one.  I used the same layout and image (from Flourishes Orchids stamp set) but changed the colours, the sentiment (mine is from the Orchids set) and the die.  I used a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 for the card base and a Labels 8 for the background paper (from Kaisercraft's Magic Happens Collection) and the pink cardstock for the background layer.  I stamped the Orchids image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics, cut it into a rectangle and layered it onto pink cardstock.  The sentiment was punched out with a 1 1/4" punch and layered onto a circle of the pink cardstock die cut with a Spellbinders Classic Circle.  I used pink ribbon and a lace border sticker across the background, and then it was just a matter of adding the image piece and sentiment with foam tape, the bow and purple brads.  Thanks to Stacy for a great design - enjoy your week in the spotlight!!

Copic Colours used were:  V000, V04, V12, Y11, Y17, RV52, RV55, RV66, G24, G28, G82.

Baby Girl

This weeks Timeless Tuesday is to use Scallops.  Well, that was an easy one!  I decided to make a baby card for my stash, so chose an image from Flourishes Hello Baby stamp set and the Congratulations sentiment from Tag Lines.  I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto blending card, die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Square die and coloured it with copics.  Then I die cut some pink cardstock with a Spellbinders Classic Scallop Squares die and adhered the image piece to it.  I chose the background paper from the Especially For You collection from Docrafts, and layered it onto pink cardstock which I had border punched with Martha Stewart's doily lace punch (which is scallops!)  I added pink ribbon and a bow, then created a notched tag with the sentiment - also from Hello Baby - and tucked it under the bow.  Finally the image piece was added with foam tape.

Copic Colours used were:  BG000, G40, YG11, YG13, E31, E33, E35, C1, C3, BG11, BG13, RV000, RV00, RV02, RV66, Y13.

Special Day

This months challenge at Scrapbook Boutique is to use red, black and white.  Well, I thought that called for something rather dramatic, so I decided to use this great medallion stamp from JustRite Papercrafts Botanical Medallions & Banners stamp set.  I started with Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!) and layered on paper from a Cre8tiv 6 v 6 mini stack.  I stamped the medallion image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto blending card, coloured it with copics, die cut it with a Nested Oval Medallion Labels Custom Die, then adhered it to the background.  Then I stamped the flower image (from the same set) with the same ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics, die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals die and added it to the medallion piece with foam tape. I stamped the banner with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics, cut it out with scissors and added it to the background with foam tape.  Finally, I added the ribbons and pearls.

Copic Colours used were:  R22, R24, R27, R89, YG63, YG67.

Dear Friend

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge is for a card that opens in a non-traditional way, so after a lot of deliberation, I decided to make my first Easel Card!  So, for this auspicious occasion, I thought I should use the biggest image I could find, which was this gorgeous bunch of flowers from Flourishes Spring Bouquets stamp set.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto blending card, die cut it with Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8, coloured it with copics and adhered it to purple cardstock die cut with Spellbinders Labels 8.  I constructed the easel from lilac cardstock and then made the inside using papers from Love In Bloom DSP (Clover), purple cardstock and a punched border which holds the easel in place when the card is open.  I stamped the sentiment, also from Spring Bouquets set with the Memento ink directly onto the  pattterned paper and my "non-traditonal opening" card was finished!

Copic Colours used were:  RV10, RV13, RV21,BV000, BV01, BV02, V12, V15, V17, YG11, YG13, G43, G46.

Memories

I've returned from a few days in Brisbane for the Papercraft Expo just in time to enter Flourishes Textures of Nature Challenge.  I started this card with black cardstock and layered on a piece of teal cardstock which has been textured with a Woodgrain embossing folder (Cuttlebug).  Then I cut a rectangle of paper from Kaisercraft's BaseCoat Collection and stamped it with the hat and rods image from Flourishes What a Catch stamp set with Memento Teal Zeal ink and layered that onto more black cardstock and adhered it to my background piece.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto white cardstock, layered that onto black cardstock and added it to the background.  I stamped the fish image from the same stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Oval die.  I die cut the black cardstock with a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two die and adhered it to the left hand edge of the paper piece.  Then I die cut the black cadrstock with another oval die and glued the coloured image on top and added that to the card front with foam tape, and that was my card using textures from nature with an outdoorsy theme!

Copic Colours used were:  BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, RV000, B00, R89.

Sweet Strawberries

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge is to use fruit or vegetables.  Well, the only fruit stamps I have are Flourishes Strawberries stamp set (and I have no vegetables at all) so there was no dithering about what to use this week!!  I started with some red cardstock and layered on this strawberry paper which was in my stash and is of unknown origin (!) but perfect for this.  I stamped the strawberry basket image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  Then I die cut some green cardstock with the next size oval die and glued the image piece on top.  Then I border punched some white cardstock with  the lattice arch punch (Martha Stewart) and wrapped it with red satin ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment (also from Strawberries stamp set) with Real Red ink (Stampin' Up!) onto white card and die cut it with Spellbinders Labels 8 and added this with the punched piece to the middle of the background.  I die cut some red cardstock with Spellbinders Lattice Pendant and added that and finally added the image piece with foam tape.

Copic Colours used were:  R32, R35, R37, R89, G24, G28, YG13, YG17, 0, E31, E33, E35, E37.

CASEing Cindy

The Flourishes Designer in the spotlight this week is the fantastic Cindy Lawrence - read her story HERE.  I'm a big admirer of Cindy's wonderful creations and I chose to CASE this card.  I used the same layout and a similar colour scheme - my background papers are from a retired Stampin' Up! DSP called Bella Rose, and my green check ribbon is slightly different too.  I omitted the twine (I have some but I can't find it!!) and my button is a red wooden one sewn to the bow.  I used a different border punch - mine is doily lace (Martha Stewart) and I chose a different image and sentiment (although I still used fruit!!).  I used Flourishes Strawberries stamp set for the image and the sentiment.  The three white pearls finished it off.  Thanks, Cindy, for a great design - I hope you enjoy your special week.

Copic Colours used were:  R32, R35, R37, YG93, YG95, Y11, Y15, C1.
