Wedding

This weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge is to make a wedding card.  Well, that was easy!!  I chose the image from Flourishes Wedded Bliss stamp set and the sentiment is from Flourishes Tag Lines set.  I stamped both with Cherry Cobler (Stampin' Up!) ink onto white card, die cut the image piece with a Spellbinders Labels One and embossed the edge.  Then I used a Spellbinders Decorative Labels One to die cut some Cherry Cobler cardstock and added the image piece with foam tape.  I cut a piece of white cardstock, embossed it with a Sizzix embossing folder and adhered it to more Cherry Cobler cardstock to make the base of my card front.  I added some white lace with double sided tape, plus some dark red grosgrain ribbon.  Then I cut the sentiment piece into a rectangle, layered it onto the Cherry Cobler cardstock, and adhered it just above the middle of the lace.  The final touch was a bow made from the ribbon and my wedding card was finished!

50th Anniversary

My friends, Midge and Barry are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this week.  Midge carried yellow roses on her wedding day, so I chose this lovely image from Flourishes Calendar Set 2.  I stamped the roses with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and cut it out.  This week, the Timeless Tuesday challenge is to add a frame, so I die cut a frame from yellow cardstock with Spellbinders Opulent Ovals dies, then cut white cardstock with the largest die and sponged the edges with Versacolor Canary ink for the background.  I die cut an oval from white cardstock, embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and glued the yellow frame on top.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Happily Ever After stamp set, stamped with Memento ink onto white card, die cut with a Spellbinders Standard Circle die and sponged with Versacolor Canary ink.  I punched a 2" circle from yellow cardstock to layer the sentiment onto.  The background is white cardstock embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and border punched with a Martha Stewart punch, then layered onto yellow cardstock and wrapped with yellow satin ribbon.  Then I just put it all together, adding the frame and the sentiment piece with foam tape and more foam tape under the cut out image, and finally a bow.

Copic Colours used were:  Y00, Y11, Y15, Y21, G24, G28, G82.

Mother's Day

I made this card for this months challenge at Scrapbook Boutique.  The inspiration picture has soft, pretty colours of pink, blue and yellow plus a little banner with "Mum" written on it.  I started with pale pink cardstock and layered onto it some paper from Spring Drop Collection (First Edition), then added pink and blue ribbon near the bottom.  The banner in the picture made me think of this great banner sentiment from Vintage Rose Medallions stamp set (Just Rite Papercraft) so I stamped it with Memento ink onto blending card and coloured it pale pink with copics.  Then I stamped the hat image from Feminine Charm stamp set (Flourishes) die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Oval, coloured it with copics and sponged some sky blue ink (Versacolor) around the edge.  I die cut pink cardstock with a Spellbinders Opulent Oval and then some pale blue cardstock with a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Oval, and adhered them to my card front.  The image and the banner were then added with foam tape.  A blue ribbon bow finished it off!

Copic Colours used were:  B0000, B000, B00, RV00, RV10. RV21, YG11, YG13, Y11, Y15, E30, E31, E33.

Rustic Thank You

I made this card for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge.  Ally asked us to use items found around the house.  Well, I really had to use my thinking cap for this one!!  In the end, I used a paper clip from my desk, string from the kitchen and part of a cardboard box (I stole that idea from my daughter - Thanks, Honey!)  So, as I was going rustic (but not rusty!) I chose my background paper from The Basecoat Collection (Kaisercraft) and layered it onto cocoa cardstock.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Sweet Violets stamp set because I wanted a plain upper case font.  I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and layered onto the cocoa cardstock.  The image is from Country Road Stamp set (Flourishes), stamped with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured with copics and die cut with a Spellbinders Classic Oval.  Put the whole lot together and that's it.

Copic Colours used were:  B0000, Y000, G20, R89(diluted with 0 - blender).

In The Summertime

This months challenge at Flourishes is called Summer Lovin' - can't you just hear Olivia Newton John singing??  Anyway, I thought this great image from Flourishes On The Porch stamp set would be perfect for this theme.  A good book and a comfy chair in a cool spot - who could ask for more on a summer day?  I actually made this card for my friend, Kim, who, when she comes to visit almost always chooses to sit in a chair very like this one!  Well, I started with pink cardstock and layered on paper from a retired Stampin' Up! DSP called Tea Party.  Then I cut the pink cardstock with a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle die and layered on another piece of paper from the same DSP and adhered it to the background.  Then I cut some blue/grey cardstock with a Spellbinders Floral Flourishes die and covered it with cyrstal effects and left it to dry before adding it to the background.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Orchids set  and is layered onto some of the blue/grey cardstock.  Finally I stamped the chair image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and die cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and layered it onto a Scalloped Circle cut from the pink cardstock.  Popped that piece up with foam tape and that was it!

Copic Colours used were:  B60, B63, RV10, RV13, RV21, YR12, YR15, YG61, YG63, YG67.

Zinnia Bunch

I made this card for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge which is to layer ribbon.  Well, that was easy, but deciding what to put with it wasn't so easy!!  In the end I decided on one of my favourites - the zinnia bunch from Flourishes Zinnias stamp set.  I stamped the image with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics and cut it out - a bit tricky but the finished product is very satisfying!  For the background, I used yellow paper from Pink Paislee's Indigo Bleu paper pad and layered it onto lilac cardstock.  Then I die cut some more lilac cardstock with Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle die (appropriate, right?), topped that with blue check paper and popped up the flowers with foam tape.  Wide blue satin ribbon topped with lilac satin ribbon and a bow finished it off.

Copic colours used were: BV01, BV02,BV04,Y11, Y15, Y17, E31, E33, E35, G40, G43, G46.
