The latest Friday challenge at JustRite Papercrafts is to create a Chalkboard Birthday card. Now, I have to admit that embossing powder is not my friend! I never seem to be entirely happy with the result. So, for this card, I decided to use a die cut for my "chalk". I started with paper from a Cre8tiv black and white mini paper stack, layered it onto black cardstock and wrapped black and white spot ribbon around it. Next, I die cut black cardstock with a Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle die for the "blackboard". I die cut white cardstock with the Retro Bike die by Fancy That and added that to the blackboard. Then I stamped the sentiment from JustRite's Birthday Sentiments Set (retired - but still oh, so useful!) with black ink onto white cardstock, punched it out with a circle punch, and layered it onto black cardstock which had been die cut with a Spellbinders Standard Circle and then onto white cardstock die cut with a Spellbinders Scallop Circle. This piece was then added with foam tape. A spotted bow finished off my version of a chalkboard card.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
