The Birdhouse

It's Release Week at Flourishes and this month it's a Colour Combo of Teal, Rust and Grey.  Well - not easy colours!! So I went looking through my -um - extensive selection of Flourishes stamps to see what would work with these colours.  I decided on this great little birdhouse from the Friendly Reminders set so I stamped it with Memento ink onto blending card, coloured it with copics, cut it into a long oval and lightly sponged the edges with Versacolor Turquoise ink.  The background papers are from Birdsong DSP (Papermania), layered onto rust cardstock.  I tied a knot in the teal striped ribbon and added it to the background.  Then I die cut some grey cardstock with a Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die, added that to the background, then attached the image piece with foam tape.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) directly onto the patterned paper.  These aren't colours I would normally choose, but I was quite pleased with the result.  Can't wait to see what new stamps will be released this week!!

Copic Colours used were:  E11, E13, E15, E17, E19, C3, C5, C7, BG32, BG45, BG49.

Thanks so much for coming to visit!
